ETTU NOYAMBU (EIGHT DAYS FASTING) FOR THE CELEBRATION OF THE NATIVITY OF BL. V. MARY
September 8th is the feast of the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Church fathers thought of her birth as a special one, the one without any corruption of sin. As we celebrate her birth with fasting (noyambu) for eight days, we are seeking the prayers of the Mother of God in our own personal as well as family life. I invite you to take part in the Holy Mass all eight days with a particular intention that would lead us to Christ Jesus. Every day of the Ettu Noyambu from 01 to 08 September we will have Syro-Malabar Holy Mass at 6.30pm (Saturday at 9.30am) at SPC Yarralumla.
Our Lady spoke to Lucy in Fatima on June 13, 1917 "I will never abandon you, my child. My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the way that will lead you to God."
It is desirable that every Christian may consecrate himself/herself to the immaculate heart of Blessed Virgin Mary. Following is a good act of consecration you can pray.
I, . . ., a faithless sinner, renew and ratify today in thy Heart, O Immaculate Mother, the vows of my Baptism; I renounce forever Satan, his pomps and works; and I give myself entirely to Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Wisdom, to carry my cross after Him all the days of my life, and to be more faithful to Him than I have ever been before.
Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, in the presence of all the heavenly court, I choose thee this day for my Mother and Mistress. I deliver and consecrate to thee, and to thy Immaculate Heart, as thy child and slave of love, my body and soul, my goods, both interior and exterior, and even the value of all my good actions, past, present and future; leaving to thee the entire and full right of disposing of me, and all that belongs to me, without exception, according to thy good pleasure, for the greater glory of God, in time and in eternity. Amen.
